Poor Children Hospitalized More Often After Ozone Exposures

This study examined the associations of ozone with childhood asthma hospitalizations as stratified by socioeconomic status in Seoul, Korea in 2002.

The study found that the number of children who were hospitalized for asthma increased as the socioeconomic status decreased, suggesting that air pollution had a disproportionate impact on the poorer children, and that socioeconomic status should be considered as a potentially confounding factor.
