CARB Schedules AQAC Meeting to Review Ozone Standards for January 11-12, 2005

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has scheduled a public meeting of its Air Quality Advisory Committee (AQAC) to review the draft staff report on revisions to the California Ambient Air Quality Standards for ozone.

The Air Quality Advisory Committee is a scientific peer review committee, charged with independently evaluating the scientific basis of proposed recommendations for updating the ambient air quality standards.

The meeting will take place on January 11-12, 2005, beginning at 9 a.m., at the Doubletree Hotel and Executive Meeting Center - Berkeley Marina.

The draft staff report released on June 21, 2004, recommended establishment of a new 8-hour standard of 0.070 ppm ozone, and retention of the existing 1-hour standard of 0.09 ppm, not to be exceeded. Public health organizations strongly support the proposed standards. click here.

Members of the public may make comments at the meeting if they register in advance with Dr.
