Leavitt Appoints New Chair of CASAC, October 15, 2004

U.S. EPA Administrator Mike Leavitt has appoinited Dr. Rogene Henderson as the new Chair of the Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC).

Henderson is Director of the Lovelace Respiratory Symposium of the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is the Deputy Director of the National Environmental Respiratory Center there.

She is the third CASAC chair to come out of the Lovelace Institute, following in the footsteps of Dr. Joe Mauderly and Dr. Roger McClellan.

Henderson replaces Dr. Phil Hopke of Clarkson University who served as Chair of CASAC for the last four years. Hopke will remain on the panel as “former Chair” for another year.
