Standards Must Protect the Most Vulnerable, PSR Testifies, July 23, 2001

“Public health professionals have a history of taking appropriate actions to protect the public’s health when the scientific evidence is sufficient to warrant serious concern. We’ve learned the value of not waiting until absolutely conclusive evidence is available,” testified Dr. Cindy Parker, MD, MPH, of Physicians for Social Responsiblity (PSR) before CASAC on July 23, 2001.

“One of the beauties of scientific investigation is that there are always more questions that need to be answered. That’s also one of the liabilities of scientific investigation and shouldn’t be used as an excuse to not take appropriate action.”
