Short-Term Particle Standard Too Weak, Health Groups Testify, July 23, 2001
“Strong air quality standards are the first step to alleviate the suffering of children, the elderly, and people with heart conditions and respiratory diseases such as asthma…” stated Anthony J. DeLucia, PhD, President-Elect of the American Lung Association® in testimony before EPA’s Clean AIr Scientific Advisory Committee.
Dr. DeLucia’s testimony, delivered July 23, 2001 on behalf of the American Public Health Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, and more than two dozen national, state, and local environmental orgaizations, addressed improvements needed in EPA’s Staff Paper and Criteria Document.
